Exploring History came about slowly. It took layers to get the clouds the way they are as well as the water. That’s why you can see a subtle change in color in the water and waves. I decided on ruins because that time era interests me. I had put the balloon there before the ruins. I was going to take the ballon out and paint over it because it seemed it didn’t fit the era. However these are ruins in the era when they had invented hot air balloons. I decided to keep the balloon because I felt it added interest. That’s how Exploring Ruins was created.
